I always wanted to compete. After stepping on stage for the very first time, I fell in love with the sport and I have been competing ever since.

Do it for fun.You train super hard all year round so you deserve to showcase your hard work on stage and feel proud! Don't do a show expecting to place high cause you never know what the judges are looking for, so just try your best and have a great ti

Hassan Jama

Competitive Bodybuilder

Let me introduce you all to Hassan "Stunna" Jama. Hassan is currently sponsored by NX Labs and has achieved Pro status with Muscle Mania. Recently Hassan has qualified for the Nationals by placing an impressive third in the light heavy weight division at the ontario provincials. Hassan competes at a solid 194-199lbs and tips the scale at 250-260 all fitted on a 5'9 frame in the offseason and boast twenty inch plus arms. Hassan's moniker is well deserved, the twenty four year old is definately a "Stunna".

What word of advice would you give to any inspiring competitor?

I would tell them to realize that it’s a slow process and you will be faced with some setbacks but keep at it and hopefully you will enjoy it. There is so much to gain from competing and it’s worth the try.

What was your most memorable moment while competing?

I guess they all seem memorable at the time but one thing was when I came first at the musclemania world 22 under. I traveled to California with two friends and wasn’t sure how I would do as it was my first real big show but all went well and I was able to pull a 1st place.

Why Compete?

I’ve always tracked bodybuilding and enjoyed watching it and felt I would someday want to try it. Training was always fun for me and I made great gains early so finally I decided to try my first show.

Describe the first time ever you stepped on stage.

I wasn’t so much nervous but I knew I was not ready and was already planning my return.

What does it take to develop an aesthetically pleasing physique such as yours?

I think I just train the way I want and luckily for me everything flows well and if I do find something lacking I shift my priorities to that area. This year I will be focusing on some weak points to have a more complete package.

What would you say is your favorite body part to train?

I really like training everything because I’m strong overall.  If I had to choose one part it would be legs because I like going heavy on squats.

After a contest the first thing you want to eat is?

It’s usually McDonalds or some sort of burgers. I then drink all night because I’m so thirsty.

The one thing you hate and love about competiting?

Ah there’s so many I don’t know really I guess I hate getting off the protan after a show.

What does your training routine look like?

I train heavy all year doing 4 -5 exercises and usually 6-8 reps.

1.Chest-traps
2.Back-hams
3.Off
4.Shoulders
5.Arms
6.off
7.Quads

If you weren’t in the fitness/bb industry what would you be doing?

I would most likely keep playing football.

What are your favorite Movies?

No question about it. The Pachino classic Scarface.

Your idea of the perfect getaway

Somewhere where I don’t think about the gym so maybe no gyms and no counting calories just eat what I want.

What is your favorite cheat food/meal?

Full breakfast with eggs and pancakes.

What are some of your pet peeves?

My biggest pet peeve is people who make noises in the gym.

What do you enjoying doing for leisure?

 Chilling with friends and family.

What does the future have in store for Hassan?

I will be focusing this off season on making some improvements then if all goes well I will compete in the 2008 Canadian nationals.

Anything else you would like to add or mention.

Thanks for taking the time to read my interview and thanks for the support.
